Following the Constitutional Congress of 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked the question: "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" Old Ben responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."
We need to ask ourselves this question often and hang on as tight as we can...
